I have suggested that Cassandra make the other Seekers aware of this. Beyond that, I have not decided.
Ideally, I would like the information to be known. I would like for the Tranquil to be able to have the choice to be given their powers back. But I do not know the extent of the damage Tranquility has caused nor what its effects are. I would like to ensure that there is a safe and manageable way to help these people without causing more harm or pain and without opening up other avenues of trouble.
[ She is grateful that this is text. The sound that escapes her is one of horror. ]
It is an awful fate. I would not wish it upon anyone.
I do not want Tranquility to exist as a punishment or as a way to leash or persecute mages. Its intended purpose for the Seekers, to my knowledge, was one of peace and focus. Using it on mages as it has been is diabolical.
[He wouldn't be able to do this any other way. Even as it is, it's extremely painful.]
At Kirkwall, they made mages who passed their Harrowings Tranquil over the smallest things. One might be made it because they made a sarcastic comment to a templar, or because they were sending letters to their loved ones. They might also be made it if a templar wanted them more pliant and easier to take advantage of.
People say that Kirkwall was just a bad situation, but those things happened all over Thedas.
They don't have the ability to tell you they want to be cured. They can't even imagine what it was like to want such a thing. But the minute they're returned, they would rather have death than go back.
I had never interacted with the Tranquil before the Conclave. But I heard what they did in Kirkwall. No one could escape that information once it was out, once the atrocities of Kirkwall's Circle were shown. I'm sorry that such a thing is so common in the Circles. It should never be.
Cassandra described it as something the Seekers used to create Seekers from soldiers. A method to give them their abilities. That is how Lord Seeker Lucius knew of the cure to Tranquility.
It wasn't common knowledge, even among the Seekers. Cassandra told me she never knew until we ended the Lord Seeker's life and took the tome he had.
The Chantry should still exist, Anders. But not as it is now. What it is now is just a shadow of what it should be. I hope that the new Divine will change things.
If not, then I assume the Inqusition will be around for some time to come.
I did not say that the Chantry as it is now should remain. It should be a place of peace and sanctuary for everyone, not simply those without power. It should be an organization that helps and does not hinder, does not destroy those who cry out for help. Mages should be free and treated as equals within and without the Chantry's walls. They should be loved and accepted as they are.
I do not believe in the Chantry; I believe in what it could be. A place of worship, an organization that heals and helps, and the foundation of the Andrastian religion.
[ This isn't what she wanted. She might agree with Anders, that the Chantry should be dismantled, but not like that. Not like this. But what can she say now? ]
[ The message is split in two, the first one coming very quickly after his own. ]
You aren't bothering me, Anders.
[ The second message takes a slightly longer bit of time to compose, as she realizes that she's acted too hastily. ]
It's all right. Just be safe. That's what matters.
[ She hardly knows him but he doesn't deserve to be torn apart in a world that promises freedom, equality, and kindness. And so many people would worry for him beyond her, so many more would be hurt if something happened to him. ]

In that moment, the man begged for his death rather than return to it.

Did you say the Seekers use it? They're aware of it?
Cole made it sound as if it had recently been stumbled upon.

And people still act as if the Chantry and her agents still have any right to exist.

Could you imagine what it would be like to have your magic, or your connection to it, ripped from you?
Could you imagine seeing someone you loved like that? Listening to them beg for death rather than return to it?

Anything else is a sham.

Better to destroy it all and build something new in it's place.

Too dangerous.
Going to see Hawke.

Be safe, Anders.

I am.
So is everyone else, from me.
I apologize if I worried you.

Anders, you're not a monster; people don't need to be safe from you.

I am relieved to know that the information about Tranquility is in your hands. I trust you to do something with it.

I will do my best once I'm able to see all of the information I have available. I hope it will make a good difference.

I believe in you, Inquisitor.
